Located to the northwest of Australia, it's just one of the sister islands that compromise Indonesia, famed for pristine beaches and sparkling waters for tourists and fishermen.
Each morning, Bali's local fishermen land their boars atop a long arch of golden sand in Jimbaran Bay, to unload the night’s catch. But this week they were greeted by a horrific scene: an estimated 100 tonnes of plastic and paper waste piled up to 3.2 feet high along the beach.
