Around the world, humans use about 300 million tons of plastic every year, 50% of which is for single-use purposes – utilized for just a few moments, but lasting on the planet for several hundred years.
While we might not be able to go back in time, we can make the best of the situation in front of us. That is why we are making chairs out 2.5LBS of upcycled ocean bound plastic. How are our chairs made you ask? Great question. It all starts with a not so little enemy called litter.
From the collection stage to its completion, the chair-building process takes about 16 weeks, roughly a New Jersey summer. Throughout the 16 week production, each of our stylish and durable chairs removes 2.5 lbs of ocean bound plastic in an effort to save the beauty of the oceans for future generations.
